Praying for enemies in Islam By Abu Amina Elias In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful It was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ to supplicate and pray to Allah to guide his enemies of Islam and to benefit them in the Hereafter. Islam teaches us to love for others what we love for ourselves. Each one of us wants to be guided and, therefore, we should ask Allah to guide others even if they are unbelievers, sinners, or oppressors. Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, tell the story of a prophet who was beaten by his people and he wiped the blood from his face, saying: رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِقَوْمِي فَإِنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ My Lord, forgive my people for they do not know. *The SHORTEST BUT POWERFUL PRAYER** Assalamu Alykum Warahmathullahi Wabarakathuhu To All.. Al-Abbas (R.A.), the uncle of the Prophet (ﷺ), came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “Ya Rasulullah, teach me a du'a.” The Prophet ( ﷺ) said: “O my uncle, say: Allahumma inni as'aluka al-afiyah (O Allah, I ask you for afiyah).” Now what is Afiyah? Afiyah means - “to save me from any afflictions. To be healthy, you are in afiyah. To have enough money, you are in afiyah. To live, you are in afiyah. To have your children protected, you are in afiyah. And if you are forgiven and not punished, you are in afiyah." So basically Afiyah means: “O Allah, protect me from any pain and suffering.” This includes both dunya and akhirah. How to make your children pray on their own without arguments or reminders - Here's a narrative from a sister: My Daughter was 12 years old and prayer was like a heavy burden on her. So I told her to pray one day and I monitored her. She took the carpet and threw it on the ground. I asked her if she prayed - she said yes - Believe me, without feeling I slapped her face - I know I made a mistake. The situation has troubled me and I cried and I repent to God to forgive me.. The slap, the talk, the reminders did not make a difference to my child. One day a friend told me a story. She went to one of her friend for a visit. Her friend was not very religious, but when the Adhan prayer was called, her children rushed for prayers without reminders or quarrel.             Etiquettes of Du' a By: Muhyus Sunnah Hahrat Moulana Abrarul Haq Saahib (RA) To be clean, in the state of wudhu and to face the Qiblah. To keep both hands in front of the chest. To keep a slight gap between the hands. To make du'a silently (as in thana) with sincerity and focus. To have the conviction in the heart that, Insha Allah , my du'a will certainly be accepted. To praise Allah Ta’ala and to recite Durood Shareef in the beginning and end of the duas. To pass the hands over the face after the du'a. 

 Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:   The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Night prayer is offered as two rak`at followed by two rak`at and so on, and if you want to finish it, pray only one rak`a which will be witr for all the previous rak`at." Al-Qasim said, "Since we attained the age of puberty we have seen some people offering a three-rak`at prayer as witr and all that is permissible. I hope there will be no harm in it."  "‏ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، فَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَنْصَرِفَ فَارْكَعْ رَكْعَةً تُوتِرُ لَكَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ ‏"

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah PBUH said, "He who recites in the morning and in the evening the statement; 'Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with praising Him)' hundred times, will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone with better deeds than one who utters the same words or utters more words."
